The Sync button is gone. WingTask now sends every change to the sync server as soon as you make it, so your next task sync in Taskwarrior picks it up. You no longer have to remember to sync first.
The button existed because of undo. WingTask’s undo was built on TaskChampion’s own undo, which can only see changes that haven’t synced yet. Every sync wiped the undo history, so syncing had to wait until you chose to do it. Undo has been rebuilt so it no longer depends on that.
What you get:
- Add, edit, complete, delete or annotate a task in WingTask, then run
task sync. The change is already there. - Undo still works after a change has synced. Undoing writes the old values back as a new change, which syncs to Taskwarrior like any other edit.
- Undoing a task you just created removes it everywhere, the same as
task undoaftertask add. - When you edit a recurring task, the task and its recurrence template are now undone together in one step.
How undo behaves now:
- Undo goes newest first. Click Undo on the top row of the Undo page, or the Undo link in the message after a change. Undo again to step back one more.
- Only changes made in WingTask are listed. Use
task undofor changes made in Taskwarrior. - If a task was changed in Taskwarrior after your WingTask edit, undo is refused so it can’t overwrite the newer change. The message names the fields that changed, and nothing is undone.
What to know:
- If a sync fails, WingTask shows a message with a Retry link. Your changes are kept and go out with the next successful sync.
- Changes made in Taskwarrior still reach WingTask automatically when Taskwarrior syncs, as before.
